Cwtch was initially running through Ty Hafan as an A5 simple leaflet. The design was very basic, better resembling an informative brochure, rather than an engaging and enjoyable read. Ty Hafan came to us wanting to update the newsletter to make it look more professional and more appealing to readers.
We gave Cwtch a complete design-overhaul, changing it from a standard leaflet into a chatty magazine that was targeted at broad sections of the Welsh audience. We used our expertise and unique flair for design to capture the heart of what Ty Hafan does – which is to provide vital care and comfort to life-limited children and their families. More imagery was incorporated throughout the entire design to give it a more magazine like feel and to make it more pleasing to the eye. The images focused on portraying the achievements of the charity as well as pictures of the children to further demonstrate that they at the core of the charity. The slogan was also changed to ’15 years of being there ‘ to celebrate the charity’s 15th anniversary and to reflect the care and support that is offered to families.
The look and feel of the Cwtch brand has been completely transformed and taken to the next level to effectively capture Ty Hafan’s sentiments, values and ambitions. The newsletter has become an important resource and key communication for the charity, distributed to over 30,000 people a year, and is actively promoted on their website and social media. Ty Hafan are delighted with the magazine-feel of Cwtch and are thrilled that so many people have complimented the new design. They feel that the work we provided not only effectively met the brief, but exceeded expectations.
